Necrotising Fasciitis set into motion Ocean’s artistic interest in anatomy, defining her realistic and gothic stippling style. The title Necrotising Fasciitis conjures up grotesque images, intentionally enhancing the sinister implications within the piece. The standalone skeletal torso is a perfect and yet simple showcase of the labour-intensive nature of Ocean’s art.
